PSTC Outdoor Tennis Guidelines (5/25/2020)

EVERYONE using the courts and tennis facilities MUST adhere to these guidelines.

General

  • Please wear PPE when entering and exiting the Club.
  • Members and coaches may choose to wear PPE during play.
  • We will endeavor to make hand sanitizer available, but it may not always be available due to recent shortages.
  • You are encouraged to bring your own hand sanitizer and to use it before and after each playing session.
  • Bring your own water bottle and do not share it.
  • Please sanitize equipment, including racquets and water bottles.
  • No sharing of equipment is permitted.
  • Avoid touching court gates, fences, benches, etc. if you can.
  • Avoid touching your face and to keep at least 6 feet away from any other person while playing or waiting for a court.
  • If you need to sneeze or cough, do so into a tissue or upper sleeve.

Court Booking

  • Courts 1-3 will be reserved for member play.  Court 2 is for Singles Play Only at this time.
  • Players must reserve a court for use in the PSTC outdoor court reservation tool.
  • Names of all players must be indicated when making the online reservations.
  • REQUEST A COURT BOOKING ACCOUNT   (PSTC members only)
  • The member booking the court must be present during the booked court time and is responsible for the condition of the court after usage.
  • Be prompt about leaving the court when your time is up whether there is someone waiting for the court or not.
  • No more than 4 persons will be permitted on a court at one time.
  • No walk-in play will be permitted.

Clinics

  • Only take max of racket, water, keys & phone to the court and space them 6 feet away from items of others.
  • Pros will pick up all balls.
  • All payments and tracking of Live Ball are done on-line.

Summer Camps

Private Lessons

  • Courts 4-6 will be reserved for lessons.
  • No group lessons of more than 2 individuals unless they are all from the same household.
  • Lessons must be paid for electronically, no cash or checks.
  • Lessons may be paid for online: MAKE PAYMENT
  • Pros will book the court time for all lessons.
  • Pros will use only use their designated teaching cart & balls.
  • Coaches will disinfect their designated equipment every hour.
  • Students will not be allowed to touch the teaching balls.
  • Only the use of ball tubes and baskets are permitted to pick up loose balls during instruction.

Unavailable

  • Demo Racquets will not be available for use.
  • Ball Machines will not be available for use.
  • Water fountains/coolers will not be available for use.
  • Lounge will remain closed.
  • Food will not be permitted.
  • Showers will not be available.

Facility

  • Activity will always be in line with the Federal Government’s advised social distancing measures (defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).
  • Gatherings of 10 or more people will not be permitted.
  • Toilets will be available but recommend using toilets at home before coming to the tennis facility.
  • SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION are being accepted.

Preparing to Play

  • Before going to the court, wash your hands with a disinfectant soap and water (for 20 seconds or longer) or use a hand sanitizer if soap and water are not readily available.
  • Clean and wipe down your equipment, including racquets and water bottles.
  • Do not share racquets or any other equipment such as wristbands, grips, hats and towels.
  • Bring a full water bottle to avoid touching a tap or water fountain handle.
  • Use new balls and a new grip, if possible.
  • Consider taking extra precautions such as wearing gloves.
  • Arrive as close as possible to when you need to be there, no more than 10 minutes in advance.
  • Members will not be able to purchase cans of balls at PSTC.
  • Only take max of racket, water, keys, phone & balls if needed, to the court and space them 6 feet away from items of others.

When Playing

  • Try to stay at least six feet apart from other players. Do not make physical contact with them (such as shaking hands or a high five).
  • You should consider not playing doubles, which could lead to incidental contact and unwanted proximity.
  • If you do play doubles, avoid all incidental contact, NO Bryan Brothers Chest Bumps and NO whispering to each other from a close distance to strategize.
  • Court 2 is limited to Singles Play Only.
  • During member-to-member play, a new can(s) of balls is required for every reservation.
  • It is recommended that each player on court from a different household bring their own can of balls and only handle the tennis balls that they bring themselves.
  • Remember your brand and indicated number on your tennis balls to ensure you only retrieve the ones you own.
  • Members will not be allowed to use pro lesson balls for casual play.
  • Use your racquet/foot to pick up balls and hit them to your opponent. Avoid using your hands to pick up the balls.
  • If a ball from another court comes to you, send it back with a kick or with your racquet.
  • Players should stay on their side of the court and avoid changing ends.
  • Remain apart from other players when taking a break.
  • Avoid touching your face after handling a ball, racquet or other equipment. Wash your hands promptly if you have touched your eyes, nose or mouth.
  • Avoid sharing food, drinks, or towels.

After Playing

  • Leave the court as quickly as reasonably possible after you’re done playing.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly or use a hand sanitizer after coming off the court.
  • Do not use the locker room or changing area. Shower at home.
  • No extra-curricular or social activity should take place. No congregation after playing.
  • All players should leave the facility immediately after play.

Do not enter the facility if any of the following apply to you.

  • Do not feel well.
  • Exhibit or experience symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Received a positive test result for COVID-19 and have not completed a full 14-day quarantine.
  • Had contact with someone who has received a positive test result for COVID-19 or is otherwise believed to be infected with COVID-19 and have not completed a full 14-day quarantine.
  • Traveled to a high-risk area for COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
